The elusive platypus succeeded in dashing our siting hopes on the Yarrawee River at Durham Lead on Sunday 22nd September 2024.
Despite not spotting a platypus 13 participants enjoyed being entertained by many species of birds. We also helped out the Garibaldi Land Care Group with some maintenance to plant protection; a small collection of rubbish was also achieved.
Conversation was strong and varied around the fire with the last words coming from a five year old, "The platypus are in a cave under the water" as she took David to find the cave.
Thanks for taking part, especially fun to have young children in the mix
