At our meeting on 17th May, 2024 we heard from Sister Mary Anne Dwyer who spent 17 years with the Sisters of Mercy in Timor Leste in a pastoral care role.

During covid 19 she returned to her home town of Ballarat where she now resides.

Sister Mary Anne maintains close contact with the members of her village in Timor Leste and understands their needs for day to day survival.

Her current project is to raise funds for a much needed utility for villagers to travel for health care and basic life necessities.

Our "Trivia for Timor" event on Friday 17th May aims to raise the last of the funds required to secure the transport for the village.
