Rotary is successful because it comprises willing members and leaders and offers us so many projects to support. We have made a difference in so many ways this year.
New initiatives included: Christmas Hamper sales, collecting pet products to go the flood torn areas, collecting warm coats and blankets for the needy. We joined in a platypus survey and accepted responsibility for the development of Rotary Centennial Park. We also accepted the challenge to organise and run The Bridge Farmers Market.
Rotary International offers us areas of focus for us to select from, while our club embraced all areas, I did put emphasis on Sustainability and Environment.
Social activities revolved around food and beverages with two new activities; frisbee golf and a history clue hunting expedition. Both were so much fun.
Fifteen club members attended the Rotary District 9780 Conference in Ballarat and thirteen members attended the four day Rotary International Convention in Melbourne.
Membership recruitment is ongoing and we have made a net increase in membership this year – how very wonderful.
