On Saturday 24th October, five club members travelled to Skipton to assist with a fire recovery event for the local community. The evening saw the launch of a book and film documenting the devastating fires of 9th January 2026 that impacted the lives and/or property of people from Streatham, Carrranballac and Skipton.

The book by Pat Gapp, titled 'Flaming Hell', and the film are vital historical documents for local people and an important step in the fire recovery process.

The presence of our Rotarians and some Apexians from Beaufort allowed the local community to 'have a night off' - to come together and share their stories.
